South from the East Ridge of Conness

South from the East Ridge of Conness

A little left of and below center is Alpine Lake, almost entirely icebound still. The sharp peak at the top left of the picture is Mount Dana, which is Yosemite’s second-highest summit and which I would climb the next morning. In the distance on the right, very small, is snowy Mount Lyell, Yosemite’s highest peak. Scan of a film print-- best viewed in Orig. Sierra Nevada--July 2005
