Traverse  Sucess!

Beautiful sunny day for the Arapaho Traverse. Definitely use the pictures on 14ers.com to guide you. Class 4 slab is pretty polished but manageable. Great views of the Indian Peaks and beyond.

Traverse  Sucess!

Did the traverse from South Arapaho to North Arapaho. The traverse has mostly solid rock and is a reasonably straightforward class 3 route. I thought the "crux" slab was pretty easy and over-hyped, but I'm tall so it was easy to reach the ledge on top. I thought the actual crux of the route was down climbing into the notch before the final ascent of North Arapaho. We climbed a class 4 section but it looked like one could avoid that section by going to skiers left on the descent into the notch. Great route!

both finally  Sucess!

After 3 trips up South Arapaho, I finally had good conditions for North. The traverse is unique and lots of fun.

Nice November climb  Sucess!

Very warm for November, not much snow at all, very few places had some packed snow on the trails. Nice easy climb up to South Arapaho.

Traverse  Sucess!

Headed up South Arapahoe then did the traverse to North and back with Rachael. A few short fun scramble sections, but mostly a ridge walk.

Traverse  Sucess!

This route is in one of the best settings in Colorado. Fun, reasonable exposure, easy moves, interesting terrain, and on this day, zero clouds and nice breeze.

Traverse  Sucess!

Great scrambling route, mostly class 3. Lots of smoke from the fires on the west coast.

Love this summit! Beautiful approach from the 4th July TH. Didn't attempt the traverse over to N Arapaho. One of my favorite 13ers

Traverse from 4th of July  Sucess!

Crashed in Mikey's truck then woke and worked our way up to South Arapaho. The traverse was all that it's advertised - basically non-stop fun! Found the crux easy to get up but caused me a little hesitation on the way down. Thanks, Mike, for letting me use your knee as a foothold. Just had a blast, constantly smiling and laughing and remarking on the aesthetics and joy of this route. Insane wildflowers en route and literally dozens of marmots - Lovely, lively, fun! Dinner at The Pioneer in Ned afterward!
