South Peak
After work I climbed South Peak near Weston Pass. Part of the route was wet so I got my feet wet. I saw several pikas and elk along the way. The summit views were nice, but I saw an approaching storm so I hurried down the mountain, arriving at the vehicle just as the full brunt of the storm hit.

Short hike to South Peak. Continued on SE to also pick up UN-12454.

Lunch break
Nice quick lunch time walk from Weston Pass. Saw two huge herds of elk on either side of South Peak--hundreds of animals together. Somebody has built a new small hut right at Weston Pass (not the Weston Pass Hut, something smaller).

10/19/08: Solo from the pass with 12454
9/25/11: with Steve and Brian from the pass with 12454, 12306, 12135 and 12132 (12306 was my Lake Cty finisher), descended 12132 to the Rich Creek TH.

With the super pup. Started from Rich Creek Trailhead and linked up PT12306, PT12454 and finally South Peak and then a jaunt down the road back to the car.

Enjoyed this peaks with mtnfire2469 & ShredDeb. It was friggin' cold, no doubt about it! We kept things alive with some 90 proof peppermint schnapps and were just stunned by the views. Great time, beautiful day, the dogs had a blast!
