Northwest couloir   Sucess!

Dry as a bone up there, didn't need any ice axes. Smooth hike the whole way. Started under the full moon.

Long Day  Sucess!

From AAC Climber's Ranch.
Estimated Length: 8.4 miles one-way.
Elevation Gain: 5,825 feet.
Did it with my girlfriend Margaret who had no experience and only a half-day hike and 2-mile run as training. Ridiculous what some people can do off the couch.

Whiteout  Sucess!

Climbed South Teton in a white out (no threat of tstorms, just heavy clouds). There was also about 3 inches of snow on the route. I wish we would have had views from the top!

Northwest Couloir  Sucess!

Camped with MD at the platforms the day before summiting. A fairly eventful trip. At camp, a marmot ate chunks of my hiking pole (the cork handles).

On the ascent, we narrowly avoided a thunderous rock slide. We only had to cross a very small section (10-20feet) of steep snowfield below the couloir. The crux of the terrain in the couloir felt like class 3. A small plane flew very close to us when we were on the summit.

Afterwards, we packed up camp, hiked out and drove straight to San Francisco.

Solo early season climb  Sucess!

I climbed the South Teton solo via the Northwest Couloir back in June. I started from the car at about 2 AM and was on the summit by 9 AM. The clouds had not burned off yet and were streaming off the Cathedral group in beauteful ways. The climb was covered in snow from Garnet Canyon to the top, and the wind was quite intense in some places. I was the only person on the mountain that day which was kinda cool.

Via NW Couloir  Sucess!

One of the best hikes I've ever done. Perfectly clear blue skies, slight breeze, amazing views, great route. Unforgettable. Enjoyed this one more than the Middle Teton. 14 miles, 11.5 total hours.

NW Couloir

Walked up the NW Couloir after climbing the Middle. If you're going to climb one you might as well climb both. Easy day from camp at the Meadows. Hiked out afterwards. Liked this one slightly more than the Middle.
