I shot this photo while taking a dirt road towards Monte Vista, Colorado. It was a beautiful and cold morning.

What were you doing driving around in a
horse pasture in your car ???

Did you have your cowgirl hat on ??? : )

No cowgirl hat, but I am sure I had some normal hat on. It was so cold. I was on a dirt road (I slept in the car just a few miles away from this spot). I love exploring dirt roads in the wilderness....maybe looking for a place to retire? hmmm....

For some, a horse pasture is a GREAT place to
retire, and I'm talking about for more than
one night.

However, I would want the grass to be greener!

Take care, and careful on that champagne!

I read this last night and thought of your photo: "Onward, through the shrubby woods and past a solitary winter-shaggy horse in a huge and lonely field. The field looks lonely, not the horse. Why is that?" - Edward Abbey

You are right - the horse is not alone, perhaps we identify with the horse (I almost feel like I own him). The field was huge....Thanks for the comment and citation.
