Made a great motivational poster for Peter. "I like climbing with Dow almost as much as I like Girls!" I seriously did one up that way once I saw this hero shot. An accident from my belay stance, but funny how a pic can make a route look tougher than it is.

Thank You! Yeah, these kind of shots are 10/10 as far as climbers are concerned. Most ice climbers don't take the time to take photos on climbs. It is hard to deal with a camera in these extreme conditions. Yet it is nice to know where the bulges form up, etc. Most waterfall ice is such a mystery from year to year. You will find photo beta is valuable and normally quite appreciated as you get into more. Cheers.

Say while I was admiring the nice pic I noticed that the picture seems to be tilted to the left aproximately 24 degrees (I measured). Was this to make the picture more dramatic?

I say this because of the angle of the trees, ice and gear on the climber. Also to make a placement like he is on a vertical ice wall I would have an over head ice tool placement to hang on, his hands are both in front of him.

So I tipped my iMac over on its side and then the picture felt better. You know, based on this picture, many may decide to not climb this route as it looks more like a WI4/5 or harder because it appears that the climber is below an ice roof! Of course if someone were a strong enough climber and wanted to climb this route based on the picture they would be very dissapointed when they got there!

I feel this pic is misleading and should not be included in a guide.

I took this photo from my belay stance, one hand on belay, one on the camera which can be a science in and of itself. You might need to embellish your exploits in St. Paul, Minnesota, but we sure in the hell don't have that need up here.

Edit...when a member votes 1/10 on one of your photos, but never votes on any of your photos otherwise, but states, he was just "admiring" your photo...like he might, for the first time vote on one of your photos, the bullshit starts seeping over the top....Advice, don't hide behind bullshit statements, just fucking vote and be done with it, most, including myself don't respond to outlier votes, just stupid statements. Everyone has the right to be an ass. It is god given.

Well I guess the polite PM to you and the correct statement I made above didn't set to well with you. I don't care if you took this pic hanging upside down by your toe nails. It could have been easily corrected and does not correctly represent the route. The least you could do is amend your description to reflect the fact its tilted. Then we would all know you were not trying to embellish your exploits.

Where I do or don't live does not matter. You can also check yourself as I have voted on other of your pics and I was admiring your pic, I Iike the pic. While admiring it I noticed it was wrong. I commented. I guess you are exercising your god given right to be an ass then.

While there was no bullshit intended on my part, obviously for some reason you sensed some, your PM and post here had copious amounts of "I am an ass" included. I certainly hope you can get over it and fix your picture.

Hey Dow, you're getting a little worked up, chill buddy; and I agree with Mr. Beeler, just for the record.
