Try -121.30000 b/c it should be in the West

Yes, W long and S lat must be negative numbers. I checked your 48.0/-121.3 by clicking the Topozone link on the left sidebar and landed in Cadet Creek bottomland. I clicked west a few times until I found Sperry (or enter the name on the Topozone home page). Zoom in by changing the scale to 1:24000 and clicking the "Update Map" button. Click the "Coordinate Format" listbox and pick DD.DDD. Update the map again. When you click exactly on the summit it will mark the location and center on it. The Lat & Long will show just above the map. I got 48.0158°N, 121.5025°W. Paste those in, making the Long negative so we don't end up in Russia or wherever it is. (I should check, just for fun.)
