Split Gill Fungus

The Split Gill Fungus (Schizophyllum commune; Polish- Rozszczepka) does not have stems and it attaches itself on the dead wood of deciduous trees. It can be found in forests all year round. Its cap is fan-shaped and white to grayish or tan in color. It is one of the most widespread fungus in existence. It can be found on every continent except Antarctica.
