| joseyinnet | afternoon climb ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 17, 2012 | |
| Finished work fairly early in the day, and it was gorgeous out so decided I would do this one. It had been intriguing me ever since climbing Hole in the Mountain peak a couple of weeks before. Great views across the valley, and lovely dry and warm weather. I forgot to bring anything to drink though so I had to rely on a half a bottle of gatorade that had been in my car for a week. Really fun afternoon jaunt though. | ||

| Great Peak I just wish I would have been able to see it. I was a white out for most of the day. | ||

| The road was quite steep and we used 4wd low going back down. The view was great though. I could see Pilot Peak on this day. Also checked out Sprucemont ghost town which is really cool. I saw some antelope on the side of the mountain. I also saw a bobcat below the summit. This must be a favorite place for them. | ||

| Walked the road with Dean and Ken Jones. Also did So. Pequop earlier that day. We had to worry about thunderstorms all day, but we were able to get both peaks with no problems. | ||

| Dean | Snowbank stopper ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 6, 2009 | |
| Following the directions on this page, we were past theSprucemont ghost town area when we were stopped by a snowbank. The road up from the main dirt track is VERY steep and most folks should probably be content with hiking up from that point (which is more healthy anyway) It takes 4WD and a low gearing to go up a road that steep (the initial part on the way to the towers IMHO) We hiked the remainer to the top, probably a couple miles and 16-1700 feet of elevation gain where we didn't stay long since we were getting snowed on. Lightning storms in the area also made our stay short as the thunder cells were moving towards the peak. This was our second peak of the day, with the first one being So. Pequop to the north. SP member Kadee and Ken Jones were my companions on this one. | ||
