No problem, I was just kidding too. The name of your mountain is not as bad as my favorite mountains - the Tetons. According to French Explorers they were known as the "Grand Tits". I think they must have been drunk to be able to see that!

True. As you can see, Squaws Tit is pretty damn accurate. I am looking at it as I type. Usually when you get close to the summit blocks of mountains, they change shape, look different than from afar, etc. Not this one. As one of my photos shows, it looks as true close up as it does from Canmore.
Didn't WY get excited about "Mary's Tit" or something down in Jackson Hole?? That might have been Durango, CO. Had to go through a renaming process. We were there recently and I thought I read about some controversy. Cheers Gazelle
Great information about this "buxom" mountain! If this peak were in the United States, the "politically correct" U.S. Board on Geographic Names would have renamed this peak "Native American Mammary" or something....

Is there an alternative name for this mountain? Working with some indigenous friends of mine working hard to try and get rid of all names called "Squaw Tit" or "Squaw Tits". Since this is in Canada, and no topo map, wasn't sure if it could be named for the elevation instead? Just to slowly start to kill that name?

Untitled CommentNice scramble above Canmore. I think the reason you got so many hits so quickly probably has a lot to do with the name of the mountain :-)

Untitled CommentQuite a name when compared to Mount Lady MacDonald. I've noticed that all of these scrambles involve a healthy elevation gain.

Untitled CommentYour usual superb photos and very interesting mountain.
I can imagine the talk over beers after the climb, great handholds on the Tit, etc...

Untitled CommentAnother great page!
If "Squaws Tit" is unofficial, what's the official designation?--or is it not named, and just listed as UN or PK such-and-such?

Untitled Commentunofficial Saint...we have tons of unnamed peaks and quite a few unofficially named peaks... thanks for your support as always, cheers.
