Steepest ladder on the trail

This ladder was the steepest. Indeed, it was very close to vertical. With your pack pulling you backward, it was pretty high pucker factor!

I'm glad

to see they fixed the ladders. The year we did the trail some freak storm or something demolished the bottom part of these ladders and you had to slid down the last bit.

Not all of them...

Most of the ladders were in good shape in '02, but several were missing and replaced with rope (as seen in a few other pics). Thanks for the vote and visiting the page!
