Steller\'s Jay
Steller's Jay of Mt. Charleston, Nevada spotted in December 2007.

Steller's Jays are large bright blue and black songbirds native to the mountains of the American West. Both females and males look alike.
In Mount Charleston look for them on ponderosa pines or around picnic areas on the ground.

And they have a very loud squak!!! You hear them before you see them! Kind of like sleigh
bells at a shopping mall. BLUE BELLS!!!
(I know you're busy, but you might want to check out tanya's "Arizona Sister.")

It's funny, here in Nevada we have California Sisters. I see them often in Red Rocks.

now they're on vacation. Just kidding!!!
