Thanks. Exciting for sure. I still feel excited if you know what I mean :)

Awesome!

Makes me want to be there again. I'm not 100%sure, but that patch of snow in the bottom left corner, below a big granit block may be where we bivied in May. You didn't find my plastic spoon, did you? ;)

How did you guys descend?

Re: Awesome!

I doubt that this was your bivy spot. This is about 100 vertical feet below the East summit. There is not much space to bivy up there. Did you sleep on the summit ridge or on the summit itself? We went back the same way we came (with a slight detour to bypass the most exposed sections on the ridge proper). BTW, we had to stop right below the East summit and go back since we reached our turn-around time. In these conditions, it would have taken us another 1-2 hours to get to the top and we had to be back down that night. It's tough to make decisions like that. Now I have to go back and finish the job! :)

Re: Awesome!

Misha, we bivied maybe 10-15 feet below the East Summit, on the west side of it. There was barely enough room for the 3 of us. Great view though!

Even Better!

Well, I just commented on another of your Russell photo's and I couldn't resist commenting on this one. Truly a remarkable photo capturing what must have been a thrilling moment in time. Now I can't wait to get up there and see Russell up front and personal.

Re: Awesome shot, Misha!

Thanks Jim and the rest of the SP gang! This was somewhat unexpected.

You're a climbing machine! :)

I so wish this was true. This year was not that great for me. I needed more days in the backcountry. I will mitigate that in 2006 though :)
