Cloud coverage  Sucess!

Via Coire nan Lochan on a beautiful early morning. By the time we had reached the top of Stob Coire nan Lochan the cloud had covered us. Along the south west ridge to Bidean nam Bian and then south-east to Stob Coire Sgreamhach. Still totally covered in cloud. Descended into Coire Gabhail and once about half way down turned to see the cloud had lifted off from the peaks. Typical!!! Cracking peak that's tougher than it looks.

Memories :+)

This was part of a a two week mountain binge at the end of university exams. We packed my old Toyota until it groaned and headed off to Lochdochart where we rented out a farm house and bagged everything we could find. There are some long circular routes in this region with fantastic views, which certainly make the days worth while.

Enjoyable  Sucess!

Yes, a lovely sunny day, marred only by the midges who where a bit overly friendly! A nice mountain, to be recommended.

Rock Collecting  Sucess!

The day before i was supposed to take half my class up the Ben, me and another classmate of mine (who does have some climbing experience) decided to go up Stob Coire, because it's one of the best places to find every type of igneous rock related to the Glen Coe Caldera. Only, the wee fucker forgot to bring a decent size backpack to carry all his rocksamples in... I ended up taking up to 15lb of rocks up to the summit, and back down again. So far for a light pack... I got my revenge in the Whistle Binkies, back in Edinburgh, when i made him pay for all my pints...
