Weather held out long enough for me to climb Stookey and North Stookey. Came back over to Stookey for the descent. Road was very rutted as someone had recently drove on it in the mud. High clearance vehicle is a must. The summit register was smashed (both the PVC tube and glass bottle inside) and the resultant register was completely saturated. Doing the Stookey - North Stookey- Stookey loop ended up being about 3400 feet elevation gain

Ken Jones wanted to do a good p2k with a good workout and this fit the bill. 2100' of elevation gain in a bit over a mile is a fairly decent workout. The road in seems a bit rougher than I remember but I parked at the same spot as before. We had a nice day to enjoy the views from the summit.

Great info using Dean's route. From the summit follow ridge north to get North Stookey. Should have returned by going back over the main peak but tried to traverse the north face. Bad idea and I got one of my first Utah bushwacks. Pictures and a map of the route at http://www.willhiteweb.com/utah/great_basin_mountains/stookey_benchmark_016.htm

Followed Dean's route described on the main page. Fun, straight forward hike. It was crappy weather on our drive out there, but once we got to the peak the weather was perfect with blue skies.

A fun hike but an interesting drive.
