| Literally two seconds after I reached the top of the summit, we heard the first boom of thunder to the west, and so had to scurry back down below timberline. It really stinks we couldn't enjoy the great views, especially since the storm never came! But better safe than sorry ... | |

| I started from Stormy Peaks Trailhead. I had trouble staying on the trail and ended up bushwhacking the last half of the hike to the summit through deep, wet snow. It took me five hours to cover the five miles and 3,000' to the summit. Needless to say I was exhausted by the time I got to the summit and utterly destroyed by the time I made it back to the car. Good views and fun scrambling made the trip worth all the effort though. | |
