Strange Tracks

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Strange Tracks
Very strange tracks in the snow on Goblin Mountain. These tracks went up and downhill for at least a quarter mile, always maintaining an equal distance of about 6 inches apart. There was no hint of how they were made. Anyone have any idea of what animal made this? Photographed March 27, 2010.

That's right! I posted this photo in a couple of forums. It's interesting to see the creative and witty ideas people have about what it is.

Hey! Why is Mister "Redwic" getting so upset
over my "weather balloon" theory.

Humor is our only hope here on the Big SP !!!

I don't know. I tried to calm him down. I like your theory and I think it's one of the most plausible ideas yet.

These must be man-made. Were you near enough somewhere that someone may have some creative, remote-controlled device? That, or Larry uis right and you were in the presence of aliens. LOL. Weird indeed! --mark d.

Actually, I'm working my way through the top 50 sci-fi novels and I'm currently reading "Snow Crash". How appropriate! LOL.

Actually we were fairly far away from any trails or places where people would likely be. I'm certain we were the only ones who approached that area on that day because there was fresh snow and no other tracks.

Snow Crash is an awesome book. Ender's Game is another really good one. Let me know which ones are your favorites. I'm always adding to my to-read list.

Loved Ender's Game--have read much of the series, now. Have you ever read The Stars My Destination, by Alfred Bester? Probably my favorite sci-fi novel. --mark d.

you have a kite with two control cords. The kite comes down just enough for the cords to touch the ground and lift back up.
Well, it's only a thought! What do you expect, a miracle?
Good one, Adam.

Good thinking. It must be something that is partially in the air and partially dragging on the ground.

I also thought of the story Wendigo from Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. The Wendigo is a monster that mysteriously pulls people away with their feet dragging on the ground.

So this is the monster of Goblin Mountain. Awesome graphic. You think if we keep up with the hype we can start a new folk-legend for our area?
