Sturgeon Falls
Sidnaw, Houghton County. The wide Sturgeon River is compressed here into a narrow gorge maybe 6 feet wide causing the water to thunder by your feet at an amazing rate of speed. These falls are quite intimidating to stand next to so great is the force at your feet. Five to 10 yards downstream the water explodes out the end of the chute dropping 30 feet into a pool below.
