The Institute Geological National (IGN) of Spain put a Vértice Geodésico (Geodesic Vertex) in the highest point of one area (greater vertex=most important geographical mountain). It's a signal very usefull to see it from long distances to make the works of roads, bridges, houses, cartography,... for the mountaineer when he climb a mountain with a geodesic vertex, he know what the landscape generally it's better. The destruction of a vertex it's pursued by the law. Not always a mountain with a vertex it's most beautifull, it's only highest as the nice Anayet
