Summit of Jirishanca in first...

Summit of Jirishanca in first sunlight and with disappearing moon. Seen from Laguna Carhuacocha (August 1994). The route of the first climbers is the ice-covered pillar from the bottom right edge of the picture. There several times they had to dig through the corniches to reach a higher ice field because it was not possible to climb them.

Can't wait to climb in Peru - right next door! I've been raiding your picture gallery, good stuff.
