Summit of Quandary, looking south

This is a view from the summit of Quandary, looking south. In the near distance, you can see the Lincoln group (Lincoln, Cameron, Democrat and Bross). Further back you can make out bits of the Collegiate range (Harvard and Princeton, Yale is hidden), and more westerly you can make out bits of Massive, Elbert and La Plata Peaks. Quandary has one of the most expansive views in the state. Peaks ranging from Pikes to Longs, mountain ranges from the Never Summers to the Gore to the Elks to the Sangre de Cristos, ski areas as far away as Steamboat, and even the very edge of the western slope are all visible from up there with very little in the way. Quandary has a relatively short isolation (only 3.16 miles), but its location and prominence (1,125 feet) give it an excellent vantage. As easy climbs go, this is the most rewarding I've done in years.
