Sunrise Finsteraarhorn | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
These first rays of sun in the early morning on the Finsteraarhorn, after two days of heavy rain and much of snow, made me forget this bad weather immediatly! (seen from Grindelwald, 20/09/2011). How different it looked compared with a few days earlier can easily be seen on this photo: Finsteraarhorn at sunriseComments[ Post a Comment ] | TimB | Very impressive | |
Voted 10/10 | photo! Say, in what direction is the Finsterarrhorn from Grindelwald? | | Posted Sep 20, 2011 7:11 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks!
Finsteraarhorn lies to the SSW from Grindelwald (I guess it's the north-east face).
It's the valley in between the Eiger and the Schreckhorn-Lauteraarhornrange.

Voted 10/10 | Cool. Reason I was asking is that I was visiting that area(Jungfraujoch?) and didn't quite make it to Grindelwald-I went up via Lauterbrunnen and back the same way. Should have taken the train to Grindelwald instead. | | Posted Sep 21, 2011 1:42 pm |

Hasn't voted | The valley of Grindelwald has indeed some great views, like on the Wetterhorn, Eiger, Finsteraarhorn. But then, the valley of Lauterbrunnen probably has some equally great views (Mönch, Jungfrau,..., which can't be seen from Grindelwald), and it's a pitty I didn't get there.
