Sunset on Vallunaraju

... from Cafe Andino in Huaraz. Early this morning I had traveled to Huaraz on the night bus from Lima. While it's certainly not the biggest mountain around, Vallunaraju is one of the most striking. It is relatively close, which makes it appear higher than it actually is, but it is 'only' 5686m. But what really does it for me is the beautiful profile of its twin summits. Today had been a day of planning and preparation, tomorrow I would head out there! 12 June 2011.
