Sunset Ridge as seen in December. Notice the rime ice on the small fir trees, this is because the weather in the northeast is usually cloudy at this elevation and therefore condenses and freezes, leaving a frozen wonderland.



View is looking north, Lake Champlain to the left.

The phenomenon produces the rime ice seen here, pretty cool stuff, and great shot.

Thanks! The rime ice is really cool, common in the east, but rarely seen out west.
