waste deep in snow  Sucess!

Nice day out for a quick hike. Turned out to be a lot of snow near the summit. Post holed for around 300 vertical feet.

West Powerline Trail  Sucess!

Peakbug and I headed over after Royal. The climb seemed much longer than the mapped distance and description - we confirmed that it was with our two GPS units. Conditions probably added to the perceived length as there was mud down low and deep snow up high. C'est la vie.

#49 Swan Mountain  Sucess!

After Mt Royal, rkymtn and I hiked up under the power lines and through some dense trees to the summit. Hike to the top was a little longer than anticipated, but worth it...rkymtn and I were married at Sapphire Point on Swan Mountain in 2004, so this was a lovely summit to share.

Bonus Peak  Sucess!

Weather was holding out after climbing some other peaks, so I decided to head up Swan Mountain after lunch. Climbed from the Sapphire Point trailhead. Great views of the reservoir when there were breaks in the trees!

West Power Line Trail  Sucess!

It was a very snowy day with a low, low cloud ceiling. We expected deep snow...what we didn't expect was insanely heavy, dense snow on top of a sugar layer. What was supposed to be an "easy" day, a short snowshoe on a low mountain, turned into a much better workout than anticipated!
