From Morgan Creek  Sucess!

Drove my Subaru in from the south, out to the north, with no issues. Fall colors were pretty much done on Table Mountain, but there was still good color below the plateau, especially to the east, where I spent a night by Clear Lake (dry, but adjacent spring was running). A beautiful area I'd love to explore more!

Outstanding Views  Sucess!

After climbing Mount Jefferson the day before, we headed over to the Table Mountain TH. Although steep for the first two miles, the rest of the trip was pretty straight forward. As usual, the high point was nearly the last bump on the ridge. If it weren't for the nearly four foot high cairn, it would be hard to find it, as once one has attained 10,800' there is little change in elevation as one walks along the ridge line.

Great hike  Sucess!

Ken jones and I had hiked Mount Hamilton the day before and drove to what was to become our trailhead near the end of the Morgan Creek road. From there we hiked up to the summit, a distance of over 4 miles and about 3000' of elevation gain. While it was very warm in Nevada in general, we had a nice breezy cool hike in the early morning hours although we had to drop back down into the heat later. One thing is for sure however, Table Mountain is no place to be caught in an electrical storm as there is no protection above treeline.
