| Decided to do something different from Mt. St. Helena on my way to Lake County. Arriving in Calistoga the Palisades were all socked in. But after I gassed up and drove across Napa Valley and up to the trailhead pass it had all cleared up. | |

| Hiked in from Highway 29. Stopped on the north slope of Table Rock as the person I was with wanted to head back. Will have to go back in the future to get on the top. Really neat place. | |

| Hit the summit many times on the way to the Palisades. Haven't climbed the face, but I have scrambled to the top from the flank. | |

| This was the first nice day after a cold storm passed through. The trees were still loaded with snow and nearby Mt St. Helena looked like it should be in the high sierra. I took the wrong trail on the way to Table Rock and found myself on the north side of the Palasades. Surprisingly, I saw some bear tracks in the snow; a momma and cub. The bushwacking was perfect to stumble upon them, so I turned around. Overall, a very nice and easy hike in the snow. | |
