Takahula Lake | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Alatna River and Takahala Lake. Takahula Lake is a popular landing spot for bush pilots and hikers/climbers that travel into Arrigetch Peaks. There is a cabin somewhere down there. The nearest civilization is ~70 miles away (as the crow flies) in a small town of Bettles (its current population is about 25). The area looks beautiful and lush from afar but it is a rough and very lonely place. Walking or rather stumbling near the rivers and lakes requires incredible tenacity and patience due to tussocks and alders.
