Tanya in the Subway | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
The red eyes show how early we got up for this --- fun trip though, but the water was really cold - thus the dry suit. My eye hurt, something is stuck in there and I can't get it out. They are not usually that red just from little sleep. ;)
The Subway in Zion National Park
A September trip through the Subway required us to bring the wet/dry suits. The water was clear after a recent and massive flash flood through the canyon. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | SoCalHiker | Early or not... | |

Hasn't voted | If it's really cold there are light weight things to carry or fleece. I like a drysuit instead of wetsuit because its easier for me to lug all the way into and out of canyons and dries faster than a wetsuit so its not as heavy to carry out. The water was not all that bad either yesterday, but in the winter it gets really bad and some canyons, like Das Boot, that empties into the Subway need heavy duty protection year round. | | Posted Sep 8, 2008 5:50 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Is there a winery near the Subway? ~KIDDING!
Yes, you can never have enough protection,
rather it be winter mountaineering, hiking,
canyoneering or just walking across the
street to visit the local 7-11. Have FUN!!!

Hasn't voted | There is wine. ~laughing~ Just make it out and down to the tiny town of Virgin! Very odd place. You know you have to own a gun to live there! Mayor's law. ;p | | Posted Sep 10, 2008 8:06 am |

Why doesn't that surprise me??
The wife & I want to retire in Orderville.
(No specific reason, we just love it there).

Hasn't voted | I left Orderville... it got too quiet for me. I am ready for some city life for a while! | | Posted Oct 6, 2008 9:50 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Tanya, you GOT a lot to choose from!!!!
You got LV just around the corner. SLC's
GREAT if you like mountains and snow!
(Believe me, my parents live there).
If you like "big-city" life & awesome
weather, please give Phoenix a try! They
have a GREAT football team this year.
If ALL else fails, just FIND a nearby river
and cry! That's what I do; and it takes me
LONGER to find a river here in the desert!
Enough 'bout my problems! Regards & CHEERS!!
P.S. - How 'bout Page or Flagstaff? The
winter's a bit chilly, but all you got to
do is DON a warm parka and pair of boots!!!
The San Francisco Peaks are beautiful,
but you probably already know that. PEACE!! | | Posted Oct 6, 2008 10:29 pm |
