| Could not have asked for better weather. A little cloudy which kept the temp below 75. I hiked to the waterfall as well. Hardly a soul on the roads to get here, but there were several folks hiking to the falls...in spite of that, I still had long sections of the trail in solitude. Worth hiking to the falls when they are running! | |

| A ridiculously hot day in Missouri - 110 degrees by the thermometer in the car... I decided to actually do some hiking at Taum Sauk. Made the walk to the summit (easy), took some obligatory pictures, and then decided to go find some other trails to hike. Very rocky trails there. I took 3 bottles of water with me, and once the first one was done, I decided to turn back, wanting to make sure that I had reserves just in case. Hiked for about 2 hours there... very little water at the falls, as it was very dry and hot. | ||

| Kind of hurried. Plane landed in St. Louis and my Dad and I made a beeline for Taum Sauk. Nice little hike but we might have enjoyed it more if I'd given us more time. HP #29. | |

| If only they were all so easy... just kidding of course, the challenges of the others make them so much fun. If you have a chance go check out Mina Sauk Falls. If you go in August expect it to be all dry. The rocks where by the typical falls site are stunning and afford a great view even when there's no water. | |

| SHP #12 If you're above highpointing, then it's real simple: don't go, and your sense of superiority ought also to place you above trolling on SHP summit logs. Hit this one up "on the way" back from a Radiohead show with my dad in St. Louis. I would've done the Mina Sauk trail, but for my 76-year-old father who doesn't get around as well as he once did and an additional 10 hours left to drive home. Still, we both hit up the observation tower for the great views offered there. | |

| Very nice day. I only saw one other person hiking in the area. The trail heads were easy to find and the trails were well marked. | |

| Highpoint #6 - did this on new years day of 2011 after spending the night in Branson, MO. Accidentally went to the Resivoir...had to back track a little on the drive to get to the real high point. it was cold; barely above freezing. | |

| HP #12. With Alika. Pretty short drive from St Louis area. Just a bit past the peak of the fall colors, but still nice surroundings. No summit views, but strolled down to Mina Sauk Falls, where there are really nice views. | |
