I climbed the Teide with my daughter Diana (22) and my son Eduardo (19) following the normal route. We started the climb at about 7:20am and arrived at the summit at around 12:30pm. We only stopped at the Altavista hut (closed, although an annexe was open). The weather was excellent early in the morning but when we reached the summit there were a lot of clouds around the volcano. However, the views and the emotions were superb. We used the telecabina to come down.

Great hike from the Canadas del Teide up 1300m to the Rambleta. We didn't make the summit because you need a permit up there (which we didn't have). Nevertheless absolutely great views of the Canadas and the neighbouring Ilands La Gomera and Gran Canaria as well as the lower caldera of Pico Viejo. The Tourists which go up by cable car are rather annoying, though.

A pleasant walk. The cable car wasn't working due to the wind, which was a blessing.
Unfortunately got clowdy when we reached the limit of the restricted zone and we could not appreciate the view. But the glimpses of the snowed peak were a nice contrast with the barren flank.
Wonderful rock formations along the way.

We ascend in 1992, with the one that then was my girlfriend and now my wife. We ascend in bus, and then in the cable car. The views from the summit are incredible. Leave the island of Great Canaria and the Gomera besides a fantastic view of the whole tenerife island.

Up an down same day. Fantastic views - also to the tourists wearing short trousers and sandals. Sad enough they built a cable cabin up there.

Using the bus, I did not start before 11 am on a stormy but otherwise excellent day.
No rangers beyond the jeep tracks, very few people, most of them freezing bitterly. Funny (dancing more than) walking on the icy trail above the refuge. Alone with the sulphur smell on the summit. Incredible.
And then rushing back down for the bus. What a day!

Walked up to the Hut in one day (At that time there was no permit
necessary if you climbed by foot all the way.) and after a cold night
(no sleeping bag, door open and blocked by snow, snow in room and bunkbeds)
continued to the top in the dark of the next Morning.
Incredible experience to see the sun rise and the shadow of Teide lay over
Gomera: awesome !
Mucho fun surfing down the gravel slopes underneath the Cable Car:
Run as fast as you can ! ;-)))
