Temple Crag from vicinity of... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Temple Crag from vicinity of First Lake, August, 2004. The approximate line of the Venusian Blind Arete (IV 5.7) is shown, starting from the snowfield. Note the hanging gullies to both left and right. Neither is an appealing bail-out option! Unless you're low on the route, if you have to bail, it's best to climb either gully to the summit talus fields and descend the normal route. Good photos, good reading! Thanks!
