the airplane in Airplane Gully

The remains of the Civil Air Patrol DC-3 that now resides high on Navajo. This large plane went down on Jan 21, 1948 during a totally industrial storm. Apparently, the area has been designated by aviation historians as a site of significance (in addition to still holding trace human remains) and should not be disturbed.
