Bummer on the weather

Fred and I bailed on trying to enchain all 4 Wine Spires on Friday afternoon, after seeing the absymal forecast. We then bailed on the SW Buttress of SEWS because the front was coming in about noon. Went to Vantage on Saturday and had a excellent time in nice sunny 70 degree weather. Oh well, I'll try for the mountains again this weekend.

Nice picture BTW.

Re: Bummer on the weather

Thanks man!

Yeah, we were there as well eyeing either the same route you mention on SEWS or S Butt. on Cutthroat. The top of Cutthroat was socked in the clouds and things looked bad to the west. Drove to 11worth hoping to catch some climbing. Did that Catapult - very fun pitch before it started raining on us in the early afternoon. More of the same Sunday......hopefully this weekend works out!

...hey Martin, you've spiked my curiosity now....so what's involved in such an enchainment?

Re: Bummer on the weather

It would involve the standard routes on Burgundy Spire (North Face III 5.8), Chianti Spire (II 5.7), Pernod Spire (II 5.7 A0), and Chablis Spire (I don't remember). We were planning on leaving the trailhead Saturday morning and returning midday Monday. Might be doable in 2 long days.
