The Bell of Peace

This big bell is one of the symbols of Alps. Alpine countries are now living in peace and mutual understanding and that is a message which intends to be conveyed each day at 17:00 when tis "Friedensglocke" rings. The bell stands on vantage point with a beautiful panorama over Inn valley. It is dedicated as an every day loudly speaking monument to a cross-border coalition of 11 mountain regions, cantons and counties, the Arge Alp. The bell weighs 10 tons and was cast in the Innsbruck bell foundry Grassmayr for the 25th anniversary of the organisation in 1997. Ith height is 2.51 meter and its radius is 2.54 meter.
