The "crux" of the Aspen Grove...
The "crux" of the Aspen Grove route. Crossing over from the Emerald Lake Basin into Timpanogos Basin is challenging without gear, but no problem with an axe and crampons. While you may not die with a fall here, you should could get banged up pretty nicely. Taken July 16, 2005

I probably do 50:50 running walking. Usually that means running down lower, and as it gets steeper, the elevlation higher, and me more tired, I end up walking. I can't help wondering how close I can get to 2 hrs, maybe when there is less snow. It is incredible how much snow there is! I think you may be right about the flowers. Happy trails!
