The "Crux" on Hoyt

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
The "Crux" on Hoyt
Mike on part of what one might call the crux section of the route up Hoyt Peak in Yellowstone National Park.

This is a Class 3 section that some accounts had left us expecting to be harder than it actually was. It can also be bypassed on Class 2 terrain a little below the ridge, but I'd rather not give back any elevation at all if it can be helped.
