The Geiereck (1805m) in the evening light

Seen from the Salzburger Hochthron (1853m), facing the endless sea of cloud towards the north. As the Bavarian plain begins right at the very foot of the Untersberg, the view extends to as far as 100 miles. Oftentimes, when there is no fog, one can see very clearly the Bavarian and Bohemian forests, which mark the border to the Czech republic. Compare this image with this one.
