The glacier on the east face of Ausangate

Just visible on the left is part of the steep headwall, which is almost 200m high. At the bottom, it's a bit less steep, but most of it is like this.

Today was more or less a rest day. We gathered our gear from the wall after leaving a lot of it yesterday evening, and Iván, our guide, would continue to prepare the belay stations for our second summit attempt tomorrow.
