The great wasteland of rock...

[ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
The great wasteland of rock...
The great wasteland of rock that is traversed on fairly stable talus to access El Diente's south slopes route. Nearly two miles of walking on rock that sounds like porcelain. Makes for a striking picture, though! Summer, 2003.

It might be a pain to walk on, but this slope looks awesome.
Definately visiting the San Juans next summer.

Hi Sonnik-

Thanks for the comment. It is a beautiful shot in terms of color and shading. At other times, it's not very appealing. Walking on this stuff, or even climbing on it doesn't bother me, but I'm odd, because it apparently bothers most folks. Be ready for lots of it in the San Juans.
