The magificient (and...

The magificient (and maleficent?) North Face of Skadulgwas Peak. The face is about 1200 feet high and is nearly vertical at the top. It remains unclimbed. I don't think anyone has ever tried. Maybe I'll give it a go. Maybe I'll die too. If it is anything like some of the other rock encountered on the ridge, it may be jointed well for climbing, but it's probably a bit on the manky and mossy side. June 19, 2004.

Pretty tall for rap bolting

Is it unclimbed because of poor rock quality?

Re: Pretty tall for rap bolting

Obscurity is probably the main thing keeping people away, followed by a 3 hour approach (about 5.5 miles). Since no one has been on it (conjecture), the quality of the rock is unknown. Looks like it has nice tree and bush anchors for a lot of the pitches.
