Voted 10/10 | What a beast... nothing else like it on the face of the planet.
So many incredible stories - the one that impresses me the most is "The Belay". Pete Schoening - a true hero. "The Belay" - one of the most heroic acts I've ever heard of.
This mountain inspires awe, fear, and joy in me - all at the same time!
That wisp of cloud tailing northeast off the summit - the weather turned BAD up high within a day, didn't it? From what I've read, that's usually the first sign of worsening weather - and K2 certainly has PLENTY of bad weather!
Thanks for taking the time to share this great photo,

...One of the most famous events in 8,000er history.
Art Gilkey subsequently died - but there are five men who owe their lives to Pete's quick reflexes.
