The Needles and Grenadier...
The Needles and Grenadier mountains from Point 13,165, just west of Canby Mountain and Stony Pass, looking south. The alpine tundra plateau of the Highlands is in the foreground. SP members: can you name the peaks seen here? Summer, 1983.

Looks like one of the Trinity Peaks, a dark pyramid. But there's one just visible behind it and right, and what's the big one in the background?

Without pulling out the map I'll say Storm King?

Storm King is east of the Trinity group (left) and thus not in the picture. Just barely visible to the right of Trinity would be part of Sunshine, and the big mountain next to the right would be Eolus (north).

The difference in snow cover between summer of 1983 and 2002 is striking. Great picture.

Aaron, What month did you take this picture. My guess is late June.

I believe it was mid July. Colorado got a lot of snow that year.

Thank you! It takes a bit of climbing to get to this spot, too, but it was worth it, as I know you agree.
