Re: UglyYes, it's modern architecture alright, and from this close I agree it looks out of place. However, from further away it's only a small dot in a big mountain scenery. And with this modern architecture comes a modern hut, designed to minimize its environmental footprint, something I guess would be much harder if a new hut would have been built that looks traditional.
If it's still standing a hundred years from now, people will write fondly about this nice, traditional 'new' Monte Rosa Hut.
