Bighorn Sheep Ewes with their Babies in Oak Creek Canyon. Photographed during the descent from Oak Peak in April 2007. Bighorn Sheep Ewes give birth from late February to May. They are very protective of their young for several months after their birth. The lambs are completely weaned by 4-6 months of age. Thank you. This one is one of my favorites. Bighorn lambs are often preoccupied with play and are not always interested in looking into the camera. Cheers.
