Re: rock....

Dow, I agree tho. admittedly have not done enough there to say for sure. Black Dagger looks like a beauty & is one of the RR classics. Will definitely hike back there again for that one as well. Birdland is fun too - you guys will like it. Looking forward to photos.

Re: did not...

Dow - you'll love it! Spectacular route & (as you well know) that Brownstone Wall is one great setting too.

On a different note, "cold and wind front moving in" WTF is with this winter that just won't quit...keep getting mtn. snow up here. sick of this sh.t - looking forward to some sunshine!

Enjoy the line & cheers.

Re: did not...

well, along those lines...yes, this spring has been different compared to the last two (only ones I have experience with) here in the desert....so today, we run up Rose Hips to get to the base of Brownstone....it was snowing on us for gods sake...winds coming through gun sight were swirling way too much for us to give the north wall a go...sit down to eat lunch, huddled up like we were in the Canadian Rockies (during the winter!)...of course can't see west, so had no choice but to stash gear and give it a go again tomorrow....High Anxiety and Nightcrawler if we get any luck at all....the forecast had this predicted though, I just felt bad for a friend who committed to flying down (like some folks from Portland I know) so here I am....passing over a couple great days for one suspect weekend. I predict after this system...things go good for the next two months...April-May normally quite stable...cheers

"it was snowing on us for gods sake"
I'm speechless -- I thank the lucky stars for the decent weather we had on our 2 winter outings down there this year (we have payed our shitweather dues in the past there too). ...actually, what I'm looking forward to is your photos of Eagle Dance -- esp would be cool to see those "enigmatic" pitches above the ladder :)
Good luck with the weather tomorrow. Cheers Dow.
