Dayhike
Hiked the appropriately named Nipple before heading home from the weekend. An especially easy Ogul Peak along the PCT with a great payoff up top. The west peak was equally interesting and has a fun class 3 summit block. On top of the west peak we watched a bald eagle circle right over our heads! Great morning hike.

I made it
Pretty straightforward hike heading northbound on the PCT. There was a point where I could see two peaks, one of which was The Nipple but could not tell which one was higher, but it was the closer one.

Truly great views
This stretch of the PCT is nice walk. A simple and easy approach to the peak and the views are amazing. An easy one but very worthwhile.

Markleeville and The Nipple
I was worried the smoke from the Detwiler Fire might affect the air quality, but we got lucky! It was still pretty clear and we had great views all around. We hiked Markleeville first. After summiting Markleeville, we drove down the road a little bit to meet up with the PCT. We took it north a couple miles and then hoofed it off trail to get to the summit of The Nipple. There were some cool cliffs and rocks near the top, but nothing scary. We took some photos and signed the register before booking it back down.

Quick afternoon hike
Pretty easy hike up the unsigned PCT junction on Blue Lakes Road - did Markleeville first but didn't even start that one until 2:30 and yet finished both peaks before sunset. 2 of the easier OGUL's to be sure. Trip report is HERE.

Hiked up from Lost Lakes with some buddies during my friend Tim's bachelor party. Fun hike, fueled by Coors Light.

Summit via The West Face
Scrambled straight up the face with a buddy. I was 13 and it was the highest elevation I'd reached in my life. Reaching the top and taking in the view lit the fuse to get into technical climbing a few years later.
