...is this summit formation?

Do you know if there's a class 3 route or are we talking 5th class choss adventure?

If I recall right, the remaining formation is supposed to be about 80 feet tall - is this right?

Thanks!!

PS

Nice shot!

Yes, this is the summit formation. The rest of the peak is a walkup. Because of this little formation, Twin Peaks is probably the most difficult top to reach in the Wallowas. No there is no class 3, its definitely class 5 with some loose rock. I got the impression the whole thing could come tumbling down as its neighbor did. I tried in vain to find a way up, but not being a technical climber had to give up. If you read the Twin Peaks page you can find an account of someone getting up it. Sounded kind of dicey. I think somewhere I read the formation is about 50 ft., but I don't think its that high. Seemed more like 30-40 to me, but I'm not a good judge of such things. It might be 80 ft. if you count the dirt mound it sprouts from, but that can be walked. Thanks for the comment.

I have trusted informaant who gained this peak last summer, and they told me that there were only 7 names in the register, they were the 8th and 9th.
