The North Face Route of Longs Peak | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
The north face route of Longs Peak is often used as a descent route. The old eyebolts provide excellent rappel anchors. Here attm starts his rappel while Andy observes from below. July 2, 2005. Hasn't voted | We did a full 30 m rappel; then we glissaded. When the snow melts, there's a bit of downclimbing after a 35 m rappel. Two 50 m ropes will take you to the end of the difficulties. | | Posted Jan 13, 2007 2:59 pm |

Voted 10/10 | It just doesn't look that steep from Chasm View | | Posted Jun 5, 2009 12:39 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks! The one with the eyebolts is the only truly steep section of the North Face. I suspect that from Chasm View you get more a perception of the average angle of the face. | | Posted Jun 7, 2009 12:16 pm |
