The Notch

This is the notch between Sundance Pinnacle and Warbonnet Peak. (Sundance Pinnacle is not the knob on the left and is not visible.) The Kelsey guide refers to the notch as the start of the south ridge route on Warbonnet. To reach it, you leave the trail after the head of North Lake and ascend the boulder field. This way is not difficult, but it is actually easier to leave the trail before North Lake (specifically, at the crossing of its outlet) and head for the saddle just south of Sundance.
